Informal assistance - that's
what the Ham and Petersham S.O.S. Service achieves.
This small group of volunteers, funded by donation using card index
rather than computer nonetheless manages to make things a good deal
easier for many old or disabled people as well as anyone with an
emergency on their hands. Whether it be a helping hand with transport,
shopping, collecting a prescription or just a friendly visit, S.O.S.
volunteers are here to help.
S.O.S. Needs volunteers to help
run this scheme especially drivers. The service is solely run by
local people willing to give an hour or two every so often to help
others in their neighbourhood.
