The Kew Neighbourhood Association was created in 1983.
It aims to provide services and facilities in Kew Richmond, Surrey
for the relief of the elderly, the disabled, the mentally or physically
handicapped, the sick and the poor.
The policies adopted in order to achieve
these objectives are to provide transport, shopping, relief of carers,
occasional meals, wheelchair walks, befriending, light gardening
and other simple tasks.
Who we need:
The Association has a management committee, comprising all the Trustees,
which meets at least four times a year. In the last year we managed
to carry out over 2000 jobs for the community. We have nearly a
hundred volunteer helpers at the moment but would like more.
Drivers: Becoming a volunteer driver
is easy.

Contact us and come and have a chat. Tell us
how often you would be able to do trips and at what times and days
you would be free to do them. You can do as many or few as you wish.
If all is well you would then be phoned some time in advance of
a job and asked if you would be free to take it on. These always
commence in our catchment area but can finish outside it, but you
are not always required to wait to bring clients home as they often
return by taxi. Driving is an interesting
and worthwhile part of our overall care and you soon get to know
the clients. Your petrol cost can also be covered.
If you would like to know more about driving
and would like to talk to us, you can phone email us below.
Office Workers From time to time we
need people to run the office in St Luke's. This would normally
involve a couple of hours in the morning telephoning members of
the KNA to arrange jobs.
