SPACE TO BE

Holy Trinity Church
7.00pm–9.00pm

First Tuesday of each month from 6th MARCH

Space To Be is a new event from Holy Trinity Church and seeks to offer welcome and refuge from the stresses and strains of everyday living through space for calm and relaxation.

Food and drink ...
A range of hot and cold food and drinks are available for you to relax with either on your own or with others. Newspapers and magazines are available to pass away the time. There is no charge for drinks but a suggested tariff is offered.

Sacred Space ...
Here you will find complete calm and peace whatever your own mood. Relaxing music, the option to light a candle or write a prayer is available. Sit quietly on a chair, sink into the floor cushions or just wander - the choice is yours. Linger to reflect on the visual images around the space or simply go and see what is there.

Kids' Wind Down ...
An opportunity for your children to have space of their own but under the supervision of a qualified nurse. Quiet games and bedtime stories are amongst the things on offer to help them enjoy a relaxing time whilst you make the most of your own space.

Complementary Therapy ...
Qualified therapists are on hand to offer complementary therapy from head, hand or foot massage to full body massage - an ideal way to ease tense muscles and stress.

You must be over the age of 16 and therapy is only offered after prior consultation with the therapist.

Need Someone To Talk To?
If you would like to talk to someone about a particular problem or concern, please look for a person wearing a Space To Be label. We also have on display leaflets telling you about various places you can go for further advice and ideas to continue your wellbeing.

Space To Be and Complementary Therapy

Space To Be offers complementary therapies as part of the holistic approach to the users of the project, aiming to support and strengthen each person in body, mind and spirit to realise their capacity as a whole person, created in the image of and beloved by God. Everyone can benefit from the therapies on offer, which are given by qualified therapists in a relaxed and friendly manner. The therapies of massage and "hands on healing" enable supportive relationships to develop between the practitioners and the service users.

Massage has an obvious beneficial physiological effect, relaxing tight muscles, encouraging the flow of blood and lymph and, depending on the movements used, either speeding up or slowing down the metabolism of the body. It also has a profound psychological effect, with the sense of touch engendering a sense of self worth, belonging and wellbeing. Massage can be used for relaxation and to de-stress and, particularly with the use of essential oils blended specifically for the person in aromatherapy, also to assist the treatment of minor and chronic ailments, in the management of pain and to the benefit of people with mental health problems. For those who do not wish to remove clothing, hands-on healing offers a gentle and non-invasive, relaxing but deeply powerful treatment through the power of the Holy Spirit.

The physical therapies can encourage spiritual and emotional issues to arise (especially any which have been bottled up) and both the therapists and other members of the team are on hand to listen, comfort and support within a calm and caring environment.
